WHO WE ONCE WERE

My mind is like a fading coal; and

Only your wind awakens the

Brightness within; like a

Flower which fades and changes

As it develops. The scenery of

Our beautiful universe is nothing

More than a consolation by

The side of our grave.

You were the odour and colour

Of the rose. I was the wave,

Coming back and forth without

A destination. Together, we

Were the splendour of an unfaded

Beauty which died during the

Winter. We dare not ever soar

During our departure; for

We’re nothing more than

A feeble shadow of our

Original selves.
